Project Brief

Andrew Jackson High School of Advanced Technology in a joint venture with FSCJ paves the way for its students to enter business and technology industries. Remodeling of existing classroom spaces in a 1925 school building into 3 spaces under a continuing contract with Duval County Pubic Schools (DCPS).

The development of project scope through analysis of egress compliance for the 3-story historic school. A formalized egress study was presented to DCPS Office of Building Code Enforcement for review prior to the A/E design.

Project scope included:

  • New fire sprinkler system
  • Door and window replacements
  • Corridor upgrades
  • Smoke control
  • Signage

Remodeling of three classrooms into a cyber security lab, computer lab, and a support classroom. Remodeling of two existing classrooms into a gaming lab and collaboration support spaces.
