Conversion from Middle School to Prek-5

Northwestern Legends Elementary School

Project Brief

For this project at Northwestern Legends, Bhide & Hall Architects was tasked with converting a middle school into a PreK-5 campus. The existing 36 classrooms plus music and art labs were redesigned to accommodate elementary-age children.

Additional interior renovations include:

  • New Entrance Canopy
  • Updated Classroom Restrooms
  • Updated Clinic
  • Administrative Spaces
  • New Ceilings
  • New Lighting
  • New Interior Finishes

Our team worked with the Construction Manager to prioritize the scope of work in order to keep the project within the pre-established $2MM budget.

The project was initiated in the Summer of 2019. Plans for the school conversion were completed in 90 days for Owner review. The project was bid in the Fall of 2019, and the school opened on schedule for the Fall of 2020 school year.
